A chimney retrofit may be required due to actual or anticipated changes in operating conditions such as changes in fuel or temperature or changes in enviromental or safety regulations.
Chimney retrofit may include an interior lining of gunited (pneumatically applied) technical cement which is often an economical way to rehabilitate or retrofit a deteriorated chimney. The lining provides resistance to heat and acid, and can add necessary structural strength. It may also include new ducting, encasement, ports, reinforcing bands, platforms, ladders, access upgrades, elevators, caps, lightning protection and aviation lighting. A temporary stack may be necessary to redirect gases while the chimney retrofit is implemented.
A temporary stack may be necessary to redirect gases while the chimney retrofit is implemented. ICC owns and stocks many sizes of temporary stacks.
