For over 80 years ICC has performed as a specialty contractor involved with tall structures of various materials such as brick, stone, steel, concrete and cast iron.
Our specialties and design/build capabilities have led us into intricate work involving lighthouse restoration and rehabilitation of historical tall structures, like water tanks and steeples, etc.
Notable examples of ICC's lighthouse restoration projects include the lighthouses at Cape Hatteras, NC; Ponce DeLeon Inlet, FL; Point Sur, CA; Tybee Island, GA; Currituck Beach, NC; Nauset, MA; Cape May, NJ; Block Island, RI; Thacher Island, MA; Anclote Key, FL.
Damage to these structures caused by the harsh environment means that the lighthouse restoration projects typically include repairs to historic masonry, metals, railings, woodwork, stairs and decks, windows, doors and roofing with particular attention to replicating the original materials and designs of historical elements. We are practiced in performing work under the Secretary of the Interior's "Standards". Isolation of dissimilar metals and hazardous materials removal and legal disposal are often a necessary part of rehabilitating an historical structure.
